1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide to us directly when you create an account, list products, or make purchases. This includes:

  • Identity: Name, username, profile picture.
  • Contact: Email address, phone number.
  • Financial: Information necessary to process payments (bank details for vendors; payment methods for buyers).
  • Location: For delivery services and regional vendor visibility.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

  • Provide and improve the Cheapstores service.
  • Process transactions and payments.
  • Communicate with you regarding purchases or support.
  • Prevent fraud and ensure platform safety.
  • Personalise your experience based on your preferences.

3. Escrow & Payment Data

When you pay for an escrow-protected order, we and our licensed payment partner process the data needed to hold funds securely and release or refund them:

  • Transaction details (amount, order reference, escrow status) and your Mobile Money wallet or payment identifiers used to collect payment and issue payouts or refunds.
  • Delivery-confirmation and dispute information you and the vendor submit, which we use to decide whether escrowed funds are released, split, or refunded.
  • Records required to prevent fraud, meet anti-money-laundering obligations, and comply with the requirements of our payment and escrow providers.

We share only the payment and escrow data necessary with our payment partner and, where relevant, the counterparty to your transaction. We do not store full payment credentials on our own servers.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with third parties in limited circumstances:

  • Vendors/Buyers: Necessary contact info to fulfill orders.
  • Service Providers: Payment processors, delivery partners, hosting services.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Object to the processing of your data for certain purposes.
  • Request the deletion of your personal information.

6. Data Security

9. International Transfers

Where we use service providers outside Ghana, we take steps reasonably designed to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
